Tequila producer Ghost Tequila has appointed three spirits industry veterans to its advisory board, including a former Beam Suntory Americas president and an ex-Diageo North America CMO.

Tim Hassett, who was at Beam Suntory for three years, and Jon Potter, who as well as Diageo has also worked at Boston Beer and Moet Hennessy USA, will assist Ghost Tequila, the company said today. Also joining the board is James Espey, who over a long career helped build spirits brands including Malibu and Johnnie Walker Blue Label. In 2016, he sold his UK-based spirits bottler The Last Drop Distillers to Sazerac.

The trio will advise Ghost Tequila as it "positions itself for rapid increases in volume, and continued expansion into new markets", the Boston-based company said.

"I believe the keys to a successful brand are a great product and an amazing team behind it," said Ghost co-founder & CEO Chris Moran. "We're a bold, disruptive Tequila brand and I'm very excited about the opportunity to work with the people that have agreed to join our team."

Ghost is a 100% agave Tequila infused with the ghost chilli pepper. The company, also called Ghost Tequila, launched two years ago and its Tequila is available in several New England, southern and western US states.
